HALLOWEEN PUMPKIN CAKE

Do you want to do something special for Halloween? Are you good at cooking? Why don't you surprise your friends with a delicious Halloween pumpkin cake? Sofía Bizi from 2º ESo A has sent us this traditional recipe. Let's cook it at home!

Ingredients:
200g of pumpkin pulp,100g of peeled walnuts, 60g of butter, 100g of flour,1 apple,1 spoon of vanilla sugar,110g of sugar, 5 eggs,1 bag of baking powder, nutmeg and salt.

Peel, core and chop the apple and the pumpkin pulp. Put a little butter into a baking tin. Melt the remaining butter in a frying pan over a low heat. Also, add 50g of sugar and vanilla sugar. Cook all these ingredients together until you get a golden caramel. Then, add the apple and the pumpkin to the frying pan and cook them for a couple of minutes. Remove the mixture from the frying pan and place it in a decorative way in the baking tin. Put the eggs and the remaining sugar into a bowl, beat them until the egg cream becomes white. Gradually, add the flour, the baking powder and some salt. Finally add the peeled walnuts and the nutmeg and stir. Pour the mixture into the baking tin. Bake everything in the oven preheated to 180º C for 35 minutes...AND finally… it’s ready to eat!

Día de la Hispanidad (Columbus Day)

Cristopher Columbus discovered America in 1492

Día de la hispanidad (Columbus Day)

El día de la hispanidad (also called Columbus day in the USA) is a holiday that is celebrated on October 12th in Spanish-speaking countries but also in the USA. The day in which Christopher Columbus discovered America is celebrated, so it’s holiday in the USA too.
It’s a very important day in Spain and people don’t go to work and children don’t go to school. In Spain the day of the army is celebrated too and every year there is a big parade in one of the biggest cities of the country. In the USA there is also a big parade. Finally, It is also the day of the virgin of Pilar in Spain. She is the patron saint of Zaragoza and of the civil guard, so there is an offering in that city and many celebrations in the civil guard’s headquarters. Many people attend both celebrations.

Black Eyed Peas - I Gotta Feeling lyrics

I gotta feeling...
That tonight's gonna be a good night (x2)

I gotta feeling...
That tonight's gonna be a good night (x2)

I gotta feeling... (Woohoo)
That tonight's gonna be a good night (x2)

I gotta feeling... (Woohoo)
That tonight's gonna be a good night (x2)

Tonight's the night
Let's live it up
I got my money
Let's spend it up
Go out and smash it
Like Oh My God
Jump off that sofa
Let's kick it OFF

I know that we'll have a ball
If we get down
And go out
And just lose it all
I feel stressed out
I won't let it go
Lets go way out spaced out
And loosing all control

Fill up my cup
Mazel tov
Look at her dancing
Just take it... OFF
Lets paint the town
We'll shut it down
Let's burn the roof
And then we'll do it again

Lets do it (x4)
And do it (2x)
Let's live it up
And do it (3x)
Do it, do it
Lets do it(3x)

Cause I gotta feeling... (WoooHooo)
That tonight's gonna be a good night (x2)

I gotta feeling... (WoooHooo)
That tonight's gonna be a good night (x2)

I gotta feeling
Tonight's the night (HEY! )
Let's live it up (lets live it up)
I got my money (I'm paid)
Lets spend it up (Lets spend it up)
Go out and smash it (Smash it)
Like Oh My God (Like Oh My God)
Jump off that sofa (Come On! )
Lets kick it OFF

Fill up my cup (Drank)

Feel the shot
Body rock
Rock it don't stop
Round and round
Up and down
Around the clock
